Biography

Hidhir Badaruddin (b. 1995, Singapore) is a photographer, born in Singapore and based in London, United Kingdom. Drawing from the themes of identity, gender, and sexuality, working across many genres to explore and document a generation of Asian Masculinity.

His first contribution to fashion culture was his photo series Younglawa, exploring Asian masculinity and created by Hidhir as part of his final major project from London College of Fashion, having graduated in July 2020. The photo series has been featured in Dazed Magazine, The Face Magazine, It's Nice That, VICE UK amongst others.

In 2020, Hidhir was announced as the recipient of the Getty Images Creative Bursary award for his photo series Younglawa, earning him a grant of $10,000. 

Since graduating, he has produced work for publications including Vogue India, Dazed Magazine, Gay Times Magazine, King Kong Garçon Magazine, Notion Magazine, among others, the latter featuring his first magazine cover with artist Shygirl just 4 months after graduating from University.
